About us

Grab & Shift Ltd, a Wirral and Chester based company, was formed initially to service the requirements of its sister ground works company Dig & Shift. Dig & Shift specialises in mini digger and excavator hire and was formed in 2005. Dig & Shift grew rapidly and was at the time unable to obtain an effective service for the removal of either small or large quantities of spoil for its clients.

The solution was to buy our first 6 wheeler grab wagon which was purchased mid 2006. Following a small amount of additional marketing it quickly became apparent that as Dig & Shift grew and external customers started requesting grab loads we needed to add to our fleet. Jan 2007 saw the introduction of our 8 wheeler and John Deere tractor and 14 ton dump trailer. Following further growth in Jan and Feb 2007… saw the launch of an additional 8 wheeler to meet customer demands and to maintain our prompt and reliable service.
